RtI (Response to Intervention)
Lloyd Garrison School staff and students have been using Flexible Reading Groups since September 2012. Within these groupings teachers are using the Response to Intervention (RTI) model. RTI seeks to prevent academic failure through early intervention, frequent progress measurement, and intensive research-based instructional interventions. The students are grouped according to their ability and teachers use frequent assessment to ensure that students are being taught at their individual instructional level. In this manner all students are taught at the math and reading levels they are comfortable with and then proceed from there. This method reduces students’ stress and increases their levels of success….because at Lloyd Garrison School we are Learning, Growing and Succeeding Together!!
